What a month it has been!

Your job, gentle reader, is to choose which one of the following calls I DID NOT get dispatched to.  Seriously.

1.  Motor vehicle versus pedestrian, driver of car in full bicycle riding regalia and parked up the block.

2.  Partial scalping.

3.  Stabbing.

4.  Building alarm set off by a BBQ 2 houses over.

5.  A fall down 2 floors of wooden stairs after an earthquake.

6.  A running toilet in a park restroom.

7. A person urinating on the sidewalk.

8.  A high speed police chase on the Golden Gate Bridge.

9.  Sprinklers spilling into the street.

10.  A child choking on a grape.

OK, have at it.  You know I left out all the boring full codes, hypoglycemics and basic MVAs just because that would be too easy.  So out of the 10 calls above, which one was I NOT dispatched to?

    stabbing

  3. josephschmoe says

I'm gonna guess #7. Dispatch would have known it was a “C” shifter on his way home from happy hour and would have canceled the call.

  4. VeerTheTIGuy says

i'd go with stabbing as well. else maybe the child choking?

  5. Unlimitedhours says

I'll pick number 8. Why send Fire for a PD call? But we all know this is a trick question.

    on July 30, 2010 @ 9:56 pm.
  6. Russell Stine says

    Number 1

    on July 30, 2010 @ 10:56 pm.

  8. Ken McDowell says

I;m going to agree with the Lady Lizzie. I don't remember any EQs of any size this month.

    on July 31, 2010 @ 1:37 am.
  9. Little Girl says

I am going to guess that you were dispatched to every single on, and that you are trying to trick us with your question

    on July 31, 2010 @ 3:30 am.
  10. NotJustAnotherDumbBlondeMedic says

I say 2. Partial Scalping, and my guess would be it was at a barber/beauty shop!

    on July 31, 2010 @ 3:37 am.

    i say fall after quake

    on July 31, 2010 @ 7:01 am.
  15. mabasic says

I'm not from Cali, and any significant EQs would probably make the news in the PRM (People's Republic of Massachusetts, for those of you that have never dealt w/ MAOEMS). could be a small quake that didn't make the news…………………….or a multiple ETOH onboard that the “earthquake” was them stumbling, and then falling down the stairs

    on July 31, 2010 @ 7:43 am.
  16. Barefootnurse says

Hmmm, I am also going with the fall after earthquake…don't remember hearing anything on the news about an earthquake – even a 'small' one. But no details about the stabbing, so maybe that is it?

    on July 31, 2010 @ 1:00 pm.
  17. Dan C. says

    #10 – Grape, that's my vote

    on July 31, 2010 @ 2:50 pm.
  18. the Happy Medic says

We get shakers in the 3s and 4s all the time. They rarely make the local news, but one early in the month caught a couple from out of town just before they got on an elevator. So instead they took the stairs. 5 minutes later, I'm there. Fall after an earthquake-TRUE!

  22. TBChick says

    I say #7.

    on July 31, 2010 @ 3:53 pm.
  23. Ken McDowell says

Okay, I was wrong about the EQ #5. Could it possibly be that you handled all of these but not actually dispatched to one of them? I go with the grape then, #10….anybody I know?

    on July 31, 2010 @ 3:54 pm.
  24. Rastas000 says

I am going for number 4… Seems like the most reasonable yet PITA one..

    on July 31, 2010 @ 8:56 pm.
  25. Mark says

No. 9 – They'd have wanted firefighters, not a paramedic!

    on July 31, 2010 @ 10:11 pm.
  26. Brad says

I'm going to go with #8

  27. Little Girl says

I am going to change my answer. I am now going to pick the auto vs pedestrian MVC.

    on August 1, 2010 @ 2:39 am.
  28. FireMedic says

It's sad that I can't choose because I've been on almost every type of these calls myself. If I had to pick I'd say the high speed chase is false.

    on August 1, 2010 @ 5:44 pm.
  29. John Broyles says

    I'll go with #6

    on August 1, 2010 @ 6:05 pm.
  30. Ryancp1 says

I was hoping it was number 10 that you didn't have to go on, but will change my answer to number 9 in hopes that no one wasted your time for that…
