Re: the first pic… The EMT Spot has a post up called “10 Reasons I Stay in EMS” but obviously missed the most important:

Everyone involved in EMS — heck, in emergency services in general — is buff, “ruggedly handsome” (hmmm, I wonder who THAT could be), gorgeous, and/or stacked.

I always KNEW shows like Barney Miller were fake. C'mon, a cop that looked as worn-out as Abe Vigoda? Or fat-ass firefighters like the engineer in “Backdraft.” Naw, everyone's 15 on a cslae of 1-10, right?

…And that should be a SCALE of 1-10, of course.

I second that last one. The patient transport service I work at now doesn't let the girls lift the heavy patients, but I'm sure that's all going to change when I enter the real world.

Oh my! That first picture looks like the service I work at! All the girls are amazingly beautiful and are willing to hop in the sack with anyone wearing a Star of Life or a patch of blue scrub material somewhere on their body. The guys are rougishly handsome with witty, sarcastic comments as they stare you down with their tempting eyes, only to help you acheive that goal of the hose bed scene from Backdraft.

Girls can stay perfectly coifed and manicured, hell, I haven't broken a sweat on a call in years! The guys can always lift six times their body weight over their heads and can solve even the most difficult problem in mere moments!

Oh wait…there I go sniffing the Nitrous again…

    Love your work, Happy Medic!

You left out the permanent five o'clock shadow that seems to be required by federal law for the guys these days…

Didn't you have more of these before? I remember one with a picture of firefighters with a twisted up hose among other things? It was equally funny. I would have thought the auto link thing would have brought it up. Any how, good stuff!

[...] In the other rings of the perpetual EMS blogging circus, David Konig showed a few creative billboards aimed at getting people to call 911 only for appropriate emergencies. Greg Friese posted a fathers day memory. Peter Canning discussed the use of a magical question, “Would you like more pain medicine?” Jeramedic launched a post series reviewing shock. (Psst: It’s off to a great start.) EpiJunki gave a heartwarming hallelujah for second chances that made me want to send her a silent amen from the choir. Chris Kaiser went all Jeff Foxworthy with “You know you work rural EMS when.” (Chris, I’m still waiting for my deer meat.) Never one to shy away from a fight, Rogue Medic sunk his teeth into a recent podcast and Justin “Happy Medic” Schorr threw down with some hilarious EMS based motivational posters. [...]
