Are you for Coco?

View Comments

Tell the chin he had his chance. He screwed it up and now he wants his old house back? I don’t think so Jay. Stay at 10 or retire.

NBC, I have a show in mind that could replace Jay at 10 and be of interest to millions of viewers you lost to the other networks.

My name is Justin Schorr and I’m with Coco.

Pass the candle.

I am with CoCo too! Bringing Leno back will never work. The whole thing is tainted. The only thing to do now is keep Conan and help him make the ratings! Give him a chance!

I can't agree. Sorry. Conan is an idiot and very annoying. My tv changes it's own channel when he comes on. Let him ride the pine!!

I've always been a Letterman fan, but you know who's better than all of them these days? Check out Craig Ferguson. Now THAT'S funny stuff.

That's right!! Let's put the Chronicles in that time slot. It would have everything primetime demands…comedy, drama, sci-fi, a reality setting AND a Geordie. Of course we'll throw in a charismatic and ruggidly handsom firefighter for filler material if needed.

Tammy? Ride the pine? Really? He did that. Jay thought he was all that, but it turns out he isn't funny after all. If he wanted the job he should have kept it.

Jay wanted the job but wasn't allowed to keep it. NBC made a deal with Conan 5 years ago (almost 6 years now) to give him the Tonight Show at that time slot. Conan was going to walk at that time had the deal not been made. NBC didn't think that Jay would continue to hold the top spot for so long. Jay reluctantly agreed to move time slots and make room for Conan. NBC was hoping that Jay would keep his ratings in his new time slot and that Conan would inherit Jay's Tonight Show ratings. The bottom line is that NBC tried to fix something that was not broken. NBC had gotten greedy. Conan has been on the Tonight Show for only 7 months, not enough time for him to get the ratings NBC wanted him to have. And Jay didn't fare as well in the new time slot as he was when he was on the Tonight Show. NBC's gamble failed and they wanted to go back to the way things were. The problem is that Conan won't go back to his old time slot. He feels, rightfully so, that he wasn't given an adequate chance on the Tonight Show to live up to his potential. People needed time to warm up to his style of humor. But Jay isn't the bad guy here. NBC offered him his old gig back. He'd be stupid to not want to go back to where he was #1 for 20 years. Everyone is blaming Jay for the mess. It's not Jay's fault here. The blame should be put on the NBC management that took Jay off of his #1 show and that didn't give Conan enough time to establish himself. And if Jay is so bad and should retire, how did he have the #1 show for so long?

The bottom line is that it's fine to be for Conan but the blame is being wrongly placed on Jay. It's not Conan vs Jay, it's Conan vs NBC.
